Proposition 8 Upheld in Court-Update
This is pretty amazing. Earlier today I posted a story about CA’s Prop 8 being upheld in court. I would have thought this would have been the end of the issue, but apparently gay activists are not ready to let this go.
Since the California Supreme Court, the highest court in the state upheld this amendment, gay activists have decided to file an injunction in Federal court. My question is: “what do they think this is going to accomplish? Why would a Federal court strike down a part of the Constitution of a sovereign state?” Okay, that was two questions. But hey, it’s my blog.
My best guess is they expect to get this case from the circuit court to the 9th Circus Court of Appeals, the most liberal court in America. This is unfortunately possible, as I don’t think they will win in the Circuit.
Here is another question: does anyone out there know if a federal court has ever struck down a state constitutional amendment? It seems to me that would be over stepping the federal court’s bounds just a bit. Of course, these courts have been doing that a lot lately.
Men, let’s keep the same prayers as the prvious post, adding that God would give the dederal jurists wisdomn in dealing with this case.
Amen.
