Christmas 1914

As I have sat home sick with the flu today, I surfed around looking for good Christian web sites to explore and report on. Sadly, I didn’t find much. I hope I just didn’t do a good job searching, and that there really is more Christian content available than what I found.

However, I did find a really interesting historical article about Christmas during World War I. It seems that British and German soldiers ceased their fighting long enough to share whatever they had: cigars and cigarettes, laughter in the form of dressing in funny clothes and playing around, or a former barber giving trims.

This is the true Christmas spirit, because it showcases people sharing of whatever they have, giving simply to make others happy, even though they are bitter enemies!

And for this blog, which is for men sharing their Christian faith, it is interesting to note that all the players in this story are men, as there were no women on the front in World War I. So check out this article, and enjoy an interesting story of Christmas.
