Promise Keepers
I know this might seem like an out of date topic, but since it is my blog…I want to address the Promise Keepers. I like them. I like what they stand for, and I love what they have done for Christian Men.
I believe this ministry is a great way for men to get in touch with God and improve their walk with Jesus Christ. Since I have started participating in men’s small group discussion, prayer and accountability, I have noticed a marked difference in my behavior; in my need to sin, in how I treat others, in what I believe a man is.
In fact, I need to clarify this statement. I said since I have been participating in the kinds of groups PK promotes. The truth is I should have said when I WAS participating in those groups. For the last 18 months I have not been in a men’s fellowship, and I have noticed a reversal, a backslide into what I once was. And I don’t like it. Not one bit. If anyone out there in the blogging world feels the same way about men’s accountability groups, I would really like to hear from you on this blog. I would like to know how your life is going since you started, what has changed in your spirit. And I could use some help to find the right words to say to my church brethren to get them to consider starting this kind of group in my church. I confess to you right now that I REALLY need it.
